SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSON: June 30, 2024

June 24, 2024 - July 01, 2024   Time: 3:25 PM

June 30, 2024 – lesson 44

1-2 Timothy

Focal Verses:
2 Timothy 2:8-15
Remembering Jesus Christ
At times under Roman rule, Christians were viewed as criminal. Therefore, in this passage, Paul reminds Timothy of Jesus’ resurrection and Davidic descent to give him the courage to endure difficult times..

Keep in Mind
“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15, KJV)

Aim for Change
By the end of the lesson, we will:  ARTICULATE our Christian beliefs and values as reflected in 2 Timothy 2; REFLECT on the reasons why we need to effectively communicate our beliefs and values; and DEVELOP a strategy to share the Gospel with others.

 Focal Verses: 2 Timothy 2:8-15
Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, a descendant of David—that is my gospel,

for which I suffer hardship, even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But the word of God is not chained.
10 Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, so that they may also obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.
11 The saying is sure: If we have died with him, we will also live with him;
12 if we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he will also deny us;
13 if we are faithless, he remains faithful—he cannot deny himself.
14 Remind them of this, and warn them before the Lord[b] that they are to avoid wrangling over words, which does no good but only ruins those who are listening.
15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved by him, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly explaining the word of truth.
